Symptoms / Error

  • Server 2019 Standard will not activate from the UI and reports error 0X80070490

Cause

  • Reports are this happens sometimes when not providing the key during the install. 

Fix

  • Provide key during installation process.

        OR

  • Open CMD prompt at Administrator.

  • Run this command "c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs /ipk PKBFQ-WNKBK-G66RQ-TW7V4-K4VYQ"

  • Verify activation
